Aporophyllum are a member of the epiphytic cacti family. The cylindrical stems are often ribbed and protected by spines with beautiful  colourful flowers. 'Aporo' is taken from the Greek word 'aporia' meaning impenetrable .. probably because the stems are so prickly most people avoid touching them.
