Cold & Frost kills! 🥶
These plants were undercover but a cool blast of frosty air on -1 to -2 degree nights has rendered these cladodes, limp, water-logged, rotten and lifeless.
The only solution is to remove them so the rot does not spread and kill the plant completely.
Only 6-7 plants overall were affected fortunately, as there was a gap between the polycarbonate roofing and the fence which allowed the icy frosty air to hit these cladodes.
I’ve now filled in this gap .. we live and learn.
