The 'Rossmore' Collection by Des Ellery
Des Ellery was one of the great epicactus hybridisers in Australia and created a wonderful collection of hybrids prefixed as 'Rossmore'. Des sadly passed away at the age of 91 earlier this year.
In the latter years of Des' life, he and his wife Merriel became firm friends with Michael Guillot, whom they came to know through another great Australian hybridiser Tony Hanson. Des made the very wise decision to entrust his epicactus legacy - his collection, copious notes and correspondence, along with over 2000 slides of his hybrids to his friend, Michael Guillot.
Michael has invested many hundreds of hours researching, collating, and scanning the great works of Des Ellery as well as propagating his plants for our enjoyment. Michael is committed to the promotion of Australian epicactus hybrids.
The majority of Ulana and Rossmore hybrids in my collection were generously given to me by Michael.
